“Twice a year is all we get. Put my face in frame so I can watch over you.”

This song, in particular, has a special place in my heart. I started writing in years before it was recorded in 2009. In 2004, I was in Baghdad, Iraq on a combat tour with the 1st Cavalry Division. My brother, Mitchell, was only 12 at the time. It broke my heart that I would be so far away, especially at such a tumultuous time in his life. I was petrified he would forget that I would always be there for him, no matter what. So I wrote this song to remind him. 💜
