It’s December 5, 2023 and the past few years have been… an adventure of sorts.

In February 2020, I started releasing singles from my Greatest Hits dual disc with tours booked in the UK, across Europe, even Australia and New Zealand. I was so excited to kind of re-start my music career after all of the confusion that came with my stint as an active duty Army-sponsored artist. If you don’t know some of the craziness that came with that, there’s some background here.

And then… well, COVID. The tours were canceled, the album release schedule got pretty messed up (as I’m sure you can imagine), and I was left wondering… well, now what? I still released the Greatest Hits in February of 2021. Though a lot of the shutdowns and travel restrictions had been lifted by then, a lot of venues still weren’t ready to book artists. The places who were willing to book though were only allowing 30-50% capacity, and international travel was still heavily restricted (where it was even possible at all). It really made the possibility of touring untenable and I kind of… froze.

I had to get *gasp* a regular 9-5. I consulted for other artists and agencies, even getting the opportunity to work with management companies for the likes of John Legend, Dolly Parton, and more. I also started consulting for Penelope Bourbon - not in the music industry, of course, but still a lot of fun. Eventually Penelope hired me as their VP of Growth and Technology, an executive position with a lot of work and responsibilities, and even as I was trying to brainstorm how I would return to music… I got comfy. :)

I missed performing all that while, missed connecting with my music family, and that led me to streaming on Twitch. Maybe you came to hang out! I had come across a fun party game called Blankos Block Party, in which all of the ‘skins’ or characters were NFTs… and if you’ve ever gotten into cryptocurrency (or even heard about it), it’s quite the rabbit hole. I went enthusiastically down that rabbit hole, and started streaming the game regularly. I even organized and hosted a HUGE 3-month tournament for the game (the likes of which had never been done in that game, and hasn’t been replicated since). Then, in late summer/early fall of this year, Blankos announced that they’d be discontinuing development and were ‘pivoting’ to mobile, which effectively made the game unstreamable. I still do live stream other games occasionally (my favorites are TETR.IO, Fortnite, and Minecraft), but it has been difficult to find a new ‘niche’… a new place to really settle in. I’m not especially talented at gaming… music is my ‘mastery’. haha

I have still been working for Penelope Bourbon, but life decided to dish out a little shake-up. Penelope was acquired by another company, who already HAS a VP of Technology as well as a VP of Marketing, and in August of this year I was informed my position was being dissolved on December 22. And you know what? I’m actually really glad for it. I’ve had a moment to step back, reflect on what’s next, and really reconsider my priorities.

It’s time to come back to music. Trust me, I know it’ll be tough. It’s essentially relaunching as an artist. I did it the first time on MySpace in 2007. I did it again with every crazy iteration the Army put me through, and then after that again in 2017… and now here we are approaching 2024 and I’ll be doing it again. Plus, my long-time producer, Pete Stewart, changed career paths and went from audio engineering to web development… so that search for a new producer has been an added challenge. I’ll also be restructuring how I live stream and what content I stream, because I really do like going live and hanging out with folks. Music nights will be coming… and I’ll still be doing some gaming ‘cause that’s super fun too.

I’ll be taking most of December to get all my music gear set back up, linking it up for livestream performance, practicing a lot - both my own music and tons of fun covers. My vocal cords are SO out of shape. I’ve lost about 25 pounds, grown my hair out, and it has changed colors multiple times since the last time I had photos taken which means… I probably need some new pro photos. Selfies only go so far! The website needs a complete overhaul. I shut down the members site as well because I didn’t feel right charging anyone for a membership that wasn’t getting any updates. Merch will need an update too… not to mention, um, a new album. 👀 Essentially everything needs redone. I owe you some killer new stuff.

The thing is… it’s not a total relaunch. You’re here… and you read this novel all the way to the bottom, lol. I’m privileged to have some amazing people who have stuck with me over all these years, whether it’s keeping in touch on socials, grabbing some of the merch, streaming the music, hanging out on Twitch, or even just reading the things I blather on about like I am here. You’ve stuck around to remind me and poke me, to motivate me and encourage me. Gosh, I can’t tell you how much that means to me. So thank you. I owe you big time, and I can’t wait to repay that loyalty.

More to follow super soon but… again, thank you.
Much love,
Corrin

P.S. If you want to check out the list of songs I’m working on for live streams, you can check it out here. Make sure to scroll all the pages - there’s over 125 songs and more will be added. I’ll be working on a request form too so you can make suggestions of what you’d like me to try out!

P.P.S. In December, I’ll be clearing out all remaining merch with nearly everything in the store automatically discounted at 75% off for just 48 hours or while supplies last. If you’re not on the mailing list yet, put your info below to be notified!
